Geochangsambeilsori (Hemp Cloth Labor Song)

Geochanghyanggyo (Geochang Local Confucian School)

The people of Geochang sang folk song in order to comfort themselves from their wearisome lives in the field, and now, we call it "song", but it used to be called "Sori (the Sound)". So, until now, we say, "we sing Sori (Sound). Therefore, we call the song that was sung during the work in the hemp field, the "Sambae il Sori". The various sounds such as hemp weeding sound, hemp leaf cutting sound, Samguk Sound, Samsamgi Sound, Spinning wheel sound, Hemp carrying sound, and Hemp weaving sound, all belongs to the category of Geochang. The Sambatmagi Sori, Samipchigi Sori, and Samgeot Sori are songs that were sung during the work at a field and the Sansamgi Sori, Baenarugi Sori, and Baemagi Sori are the songs for the yard. The Mulae Sori and Baejjagi Sori are labor songs at the rooms and floor.
