To the people here, Wolseong is regarded as the 'Village of Sky' because the area which is surrounded by the soaring peaks of beautiful mountains like Mt. Deogyu, Mt. Jiri and Mt. Gaya is located on high ground and has wonderful sceneries. Wolseong Valley is a 5.5km-long valley that stretches along the Wolseong Stream to the east of Mt. South Deogyu (1507.4m).

The width of the valley is not broad but the rugged terrain of it is so grand and the valley always has plenty of water. The valley has many wonderful spots that are just perfect for summer vacation and the water flows by various big and small rocks creating wonderful waterfalls and fords and continues to flow to the Wicheon Valley in Galgye-ri and to Suseungdae Valley.

If you go up the stream, there is the Janggunbawi Rest Area and various other sites perfect for a natural bath. If you follow the narrow road from the entrance of Sansu Village to Mahak-dong Valley, you can enjoy the view of beautiful hills of Sansu-ri until you reach Byeongok-ri.

Wolseong Valley will not be seen once you pass by the Hwangjeon ticket office, the starting point of climbing Mt. South Deogyu. The paved road by the ticket office which lead to the 800m-high Namnyeong Peak and Yeonggak Temple in Seosang-myeon, Hamyang-gun which is the end of the Mt. Deogyu climb, boasts wonderful natural environment and is also good for a good drive. If you reach Namnyeong Peak, beautiful mountain ridges of Mt. Jiri and various peaks in Geochang and Hamyang regions can all be seen. It takes about 20 mins for Geochang-eup, 35 mins from Jigok IC and 15 mins from Seosang IC to get here.
