About the Festival

Geochang Wild Ginseng Festival which began in 2018, aims to promote the excellence of Geochang's wild ginseng. Held annually, it focuses on securing sales channels and popularizing wild ginseng. The festival includes an opening ceremony, promotional and sales events for wild ginseng, hands-on activities and various other events. Geochang's wild ginseng, boasts exceptional quality because they are grown in mineral-rich humus with a high germanium content in the mountains surrounding Geochang, namely Deogyusan, Jirisan, and Gayasan. With special care and techniques, the ginseng is grown from seeds, not cultivated with commercial saplings and the wild ginseng from Geochang is recognized nationwide for its superior quality.
