










Suseungdae Tourist Site
Suseungdae which was once the border between Silla Kingdom and Baekje Kingdom, was originally named “Susongdae” because this place where the Baekje envoys who, on their way to Silla, would bid farewell. After the scholar Toegye Yi Hwang praised the beautiful landscape and inscribed the name "Suseungdae" on a flat stone, the area then came to be known by its current name.
Suseungdae features Turtle Rock, Yosujeong Pavilion and Gwansuru Pavilion which harmonize beautifully with the streams nearby. The area also cultural significant because it’s home to Guyeon Seowon and Wongaksa Temple.
Nearby, the Hwangsan Traditional Hanok Village has traditional Korean houses and there are restaurants where visitors can enjoy local dishes of Geochang. The area also features a campground, an auto-camping site, a suspension bridge and the “Longevity Trail” where you can enjoy a slow, healthy walk.
You can also visit the woodcraft experience center. In summer, You can enjoy outdoor plays at the Geochang International Festival of Theatre in summer and have fun riding a sled in winter.
