Geumwonsan (“Golden Monkey”) Mountain Natural Recreation Forest is home to beautiful natural environment that holds to streams with first-class waters, trees and wildlife. Preserving the thick forest, fresh air, clean water and scenic beauty, the park has installed only the basic facilities necessary for relaxation, making it a perfect forest space for rest and recreation.

Geumwonsan Mountain Ecological Arboretum which is the highest arboretum in Korea, features rare Korean plants as well as special local plant species. It offers a hands-on, educational space for learning about the forest culture. The place holds a pristine natural environment with rich history and culture. It also has various themed gardens such as the Rhododendron Garden, Rock Garden, Korean Fir Preservation Garden and Hydrangea Garden, the Forest Experience Education Center, Visitor Center, accommodations like the Forest Cultural Recreation Center, Forest Training Center, forest cottages as well as campgrounds, outdoor rest areas, outdoor stage and deck trails where visitors can enjoy nature as freely as they can. The park also has facilities for hygiene, such as shower rooms and offers forest guide programs. The park holds various forest culture and recreational events. Forest music concerts are held in summer and an ice festival is held in winter. The Geumwonsan Mountain Forest Resources Management Office is also an excellent place where visitors can heal both of their body and soul.
