Gajo Hot Springs

"Gajo Hot Springs is a simple hot spring and its soft water quality is the best in the country"

Gajo Hot Springs was officially designated as a hot springs area in 1987 and its Mt. Baekdu Heaven Lake Hot Spring is currently operated as a public hot spring. Gajo Hot Springs is a ‘simple hot spring (hot spring that has a temperature of 25 degrees and less than 1000mg of overall mineral composition per 1kg water) that is 26.5℃ warm with a strong alkali level (PH9.7) and its soft water quality is the best in the country.

Gajo Hot Springs can use more than 5,000 tons of water daily and the water's high sulfur content is considered to have anti-aging effects and to prevent adult diseases. Also, the water can be helpful in preventing cavities because it contains a lot of fluorine.

Taking a bath in Gajo Hot Springs can de-acidify our body and is known to treat skins problems, arthritis, contusions and neuralgia.

The site construction project for Gajo Hot Spring Park is not complete and there are still many facilities yet to be established but visitors can nevertheless enjoy hot spring baths and use accomodations and stores nearby. When the project is complete, a total recreational facility including hotels, sports and recreation facilities will be established.
